Sharon Batista MD
50% of my practice is devoted to working with patients with OCD and OCD-Related disorders.
I also treat depressive disorders and other anxiety disorders such as panic disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. I provide cognitive therapy, medication management, or exposure response prevention as appropriate for the specific situation. I provide care across the lifespan including serving as a perinatal mental health consultant to patients seeking psychiatric consultation for pre-pregnancy planning, during pregnancy, and postpartum.
I have worked with patients with OCD and OCD-Related disorders since during my psychiatry residency training between 2006-2010 during which time I was first exposed to the cognitive and behavioral treatment of OCD and hoarding disorder. I am trained in CBT through courses and supervision through various programs and institutes including the Beck Institute and Dr. David Burns’ CBT-TEAM training.
As a minority professional I have worked to enhance access to care to minority populations as well as to encourage persons from under-represented backgrounds to pursue careers in medicine.
