Lauren Esworthy LPCC
I primarily treat OCD utilizing CBT and ERP in a private practice setting. I also treat OC related disorders and associated anxiety conditions including social anxiety, panic, agoraphobia, generalized anxiety, and illness anxiety. I am licensed in both Ohio (LPCC), and Texas (LPC) and offer outpatient therapy and Telehealth services.
Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:
I frequently treat co-morbid depression that often accompanies OCD and anxiety conditions. I take a collaborative and individualized approach with each Client, incorporating elements of ACT, mindfulness, and self-compassion into treatment, based on the distinct needs of each client.
I have been treating OCD, OC related disorders, and anxiety disorders since 2015. Prior to transitioning to a private practice setting, I worked and trained at McLean OCD Institute Houston (formerly Houston OCD Program) for the past 5 years where I most recently served as Admissions Director and Behavior Therapist. At McLean Houston, I worked with clients experiencing moderate to severe OCD symptoms and related disorders in outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, and residential programming. I have also received training and certification in the Bergen 4-Day Treatment model and have attended 6 IOCDF conferences to date.
Diversity Statement:
I have worked with individuals with diverse religious backgrounds, sexual/gender dimensions, and cultural practices in outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, and residential settings.
Multicultural counseling was an integral part of my graduate training, and I attend continuing education trainings focused on cultural competency and diversity. I invite my clients to help me learn about and understand their unique backgrounds so that I can best support them throughout their treatment and design a treatment plan that is respectful of their individual identities, values, and cultural practices.
