Tatyana Mestechkina PhD
I provide evidence-based treatment for OCD (including Pure-O), anxiety, perfectionism, perinatal concerns, and body-focused repetitive behaviors. Using ERP and ACT, I help clients better manage intrusive thoughts, tolerate uncertainty, and cultivate mental flexibility to live a more present, values-driven life. My approach is active, collaborative, nonjudgmental, and goal-focused, emphasizing practical strategies and measurable progress. Together, we work to build resilience and create lasting change.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist and founder/clinical director of CBT for Better Living, a group practice providing evidence-based care across NY, NJ, CT, TX, and FL. I hold a Ph.D. and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Hofstra University and trained under a world-renowned expert in OCD and Pure-O. My internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy offered intensive specialization in OCD spectrum and anxiety disorders. I also supervise and train clinicians, participate in ongoing consultation, and ensure care is research-driven and of the highest quality.
I provide an inclusive, affirming space for clients to feel seen, respected, and supported. My approach is culturally responsive, recognizing how race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, religion, and ability shape experience. Evidence-based methods are tailored to each client’s background and needs, with a focus on effectiveness and empowerment. I am committed to ongoing learning and self-reflection to ensure my practice remains equitable, sensitive, and client-centered. Telehealth and in-person sessions are available, with flexible scheduling.
