About: Bravewave OCD Summer Camps combine creativity, connection, and clinical treatment through evidence-based Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Each day features ERP sessions alongside fun activities and group projects designed to help campers build meaningful connections with one another.
This year’s camp will be personally led by the founders of Bravewave Collective—Dr. Welch and Ms. Cui, faculty partners at the University of Washington—alongside a team of psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, therapists, and young adults with lived experience and success in ERP treatment, now thriving after an OCD diagnosis.
We also plan to offer a Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program for youth who have benefited from ERP and are eager to give back—supporting other kids and teens while becoming part of a vibrant community of individuals who are thriving (not just surviving) with OCD!
Bravewave Summer Camps are a collaboration between the International OCD Foundation, OCD Washington, Bravewave Collective in Seattle, and Jack Mental Health Advocacy.

About: Voices Rising is an intensive group treatment for children aged 4-10 with Selective Mutism (SM). Using a classroom-like structure, the group provides many opportunities to speak and engage with other peers and adults. Speaking goals are individualized to fit the needs of the child, focusing on asking and answering questions, initiating conversations, speaking and presenting to larger groups, and engaging in peer-to-peer interactions. Each day consists of developmentally appropriate and engaging activities designed to facilitate “brave talking.” Groups are divided by age and will engage in different activities that are geared specifically for that age group. Other highlights of the program include classroom visitors, which add opportunities to practice speaking goals with new people and going out in the community. Our counselors are highly trained in adapted PCIT for SM, an evidence-based treatment. Parent training, an integral part of the program, will be virtual and consist of 5 sessions, scheduled before, during and after the program week.
