About 75% of my practice focuses on OCD and related disorders, anxiety disorders, perfectionism, and misophonia. My approach is grounded in empirically supported treatments within the umbrella of CBT (including ERP, ACT, and Behavioral Activation) and shaped by a humanistic view of therapy as a collaborative journey toward a more fulfilling life. I work with adults, older adolescents and provide parent training.
I have specialized expertise in clinical and neuropsychological assessment, particularly differentiating OCD from ADHD and evaluating co-occurring conditions. I serve as a Subject Matter Expert on ADHD and ADHD-OCD comorbidity for the International OCD Foundation. More at www.DrAbramovitch.com.
My other specialties include anxiety disorders, perfectionism, misophonia, and ADHD, for which I provide empirically supported treatment under the broad umbrella of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. A central focus of my work is the diagnosis and treatment of co-occurring presentations, particularly OCD with ADHD, anxiety, or perfectionism, and misophonia with OCD, anxiety, or ADHD. These overlaps frequently complicate diagnosis and treatment response. My research and training in clinical neuropsychology allow me to map cognitive profiles, distinguish overlapping symptoms, and tailor evidence-based treatment, which is particularly valuable for clients who have not responded to standard care targeting a single diagnosis.
I am a clinical psychologist and clinical neuropsychologist with a PhD in Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology. I completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Center for OCD and Related Disorders (CORD) at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where I remain affiliated. I am an Adjunct Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at The University of Texas at Austin.
My work on the neuropsychology of OCD and OCD-ADHD comorbidity is internationally recognized. I have published over 70 scientific articles and book chapters, and serve on the IOCDF Scientific Grant Review Board and EABCT OCD SIG Scientific Committee.

My practice serves a diverse client base across Austin and via telehealth in Texas and Florida, and I provide therapy in English and Hebrew. My approach is to understand each client’s cultural, religious, and personal framework, and to adapt evidence-based treatment so it fits the values and context the client brings to therapy. Scrupulosity-related OCD is one example of how this plays out in practice: treatment requires distinguishing valued religious practice from OCD-driven compulsion or avoidance, which can only be done in a genuine partnership with the client and respect for their faith tradition.
As an Adjunct Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at The University of Texas at Austin, I teach and supervise graduate students on cultural humility, multicultural competence, and adapting evidence-based treatment to each client’s identity, language, and worldview. My own clinical training spanned diverse populations across hospital, community, and academic medical settings, and I have completed continuing education in cultural competency and LGBTQIA+ affirming care.
