Rebecca Courry LCSW
Co-Founder, Oakland Cognitive Behavior Therapy Center
I provide individual therapy for adults struggling with OCD, Anxiety Disorders and Substance Use Problems using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Harm Reduction. Approximately 70% of my practice is focused on the treatment of OCD and Anxiety Disorders. Colleagues and clients describe my style as warm, collaborative and direct. I also offer consultation to other clinicians interested in learning more about CBT, ERP or Harm Reduction.
Although OCD and anxiety disorders are my areas of particular interest, I also enjoy working with substance use problems, depression, grief, and anger management, using CBT and harm reduction.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have treated OCD using ERP for over 10 years. I have attended trainings taught by members of the IOCDF Scientific advisory board, the IOCDF’s Behavior Therapy Training Institute, and trainings at the IOCDF Conferences. I earned both my undergraduate and graduate degrees at UC Berkeley. In addition to my work as a co-founder at the Oakland CBT Center I have worked in Intensive Outpatient Programs, provided emergency assessments and participated in research.
I welcome clients from all backgrounds and enjoy working with people of diverse faiths, cultures, ethnicities, gender identities and sexual orientations. I am body-positive, gender-affirming, and comfortable working cross-culturally. I have extensive experience working with the LGBTQIA2S+ community and people who practice monogomy or polyamory.
