Lisa Junck MacDonald PsyD

I specialize in treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs), including excoriation and trichotillomania, which currently represents over 90% of my practice. Over the past two years focused specifically on providing effective therapy for OCD and BFRBs, I’ve successfully helped over 25 clients manage these conditions.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and former VA staff psychologist with 20 years of experience treating a wide range of conditions, including trauma, anxiety disorders and OCD. Since early 2023, I have specialized exclusively in the treatment of OCD and related conditions. I completed the IOCDF BTTI training program in the fall of 2024 and continue to receive ongoing clinical consultation from BTTI faculty.

I have a strong passion for supporting Christians, particularly Catholics, who are struggling with the effects of scrupulosity and the impact of OCD on their spiritual and faith lives. To better equip myself in this work, I am pursuing a certificate in Christian theology, which will deepen my understanding and enable me to provide more informed and compassionate support.

My graduate training in Los Angeles, combined with my experience working in both private and VA hospitals across the greater Los Angeles and San Diego areas, has equipped me with the skills to effectively serve a diverse, ethnically and culturally rich clientele.
