Christopher Keiper PhD
My practice primarily focuses on individual therapy for OCD-related disorders (about 60% of my practice), anxiety (panic, agoraphobia, health and social anxiety), and Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors. I utilize ERP centered in an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy framework. In the last 7 years I have treated 100+ clients presenting with OC-related concerns.
In treatment, we may also explore important topics related to OCD:
•Values/what provides your life meaning
•Practicing self-compassion
•Making space for difficult emotional experiences
•Relationship skills training / interacting with loved ones
I have 7+ years experience treating anxiety and OC-related concerns, and have been in consultation with two separate IOCDF BTTI faculty members since 2017. I have attended multiple OCD trainings, and have 10 years of experience learning, providing, and supervising in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I am currently involved the OCD special interest group of the ACT community (ACBS), and have recently undergone training in the Integrative Behavioral Therapy approach for treating BFRBs.
I have significant experiencing working with LGBTQ+ individuals in university counseling and private practice settings, and periodically will write letters in support of gender-affirming surgery for my clients. I strive to cultivate a queer-affirming practice and value providing OC treatment to underserved individuals.
