Narrative of Services:

My practice specializes in OCD, which comprises more than 75% of our clinical work.

We provide a holistic therapeutic approach that targets OCD and co-occurring conditions to help you thrive as a complete person. This can include, Trauma, ADHD, Autism, Insomnia, and more.

Our custom treatment plans include targeted applications of evidence-based therapies like I-CBT, ERP, ACT, CBT-I, EMDR, and others. Our approach is modern, gentle, and affirming. We see you as a unique individual and welcome people of all cultures, backgrounds, and identities.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

Many of my clients have OCD along with being autistic/ADHD, trauma, skin-picking or hair-pulling, and substance use disorders. I offer assessments for autism/ADHD and use EMDR for trauma; ComB for skin-picking/hair-pulling; and a harm-reduction approach for substance use.

Training Description:

I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2003. I received extensive training in ERP for treatment of OCD during my doctoral education. More recently, I completed Michael Twohig, PhD,’s training: ACT for Anxiety Disorders, including the pairing of ACT with ERP for OCD. I have also received extensive in Inference-based CBT (I-CBT). I participate in ongoing group consultations for I-CBT, ERP, ACT, CBT, and other modalities for use with OCD.

Diversity Statement:

I enjoy working with members of the queer and/or Black communities. I value each person’s individuality and welcome all people.

I have a wonderful LGBTQ+ child and spent 16 years as a professor and chair of psychology at a Historically Black University. In my role, I was a visible advocate for students and faculty of all races, cultures, and identities, and participated in administrative actions to support these initiatives. During this time, I had a particular focus on combatting microaggressions and have led trainings on addressing microaggressions in the classroom.
