Dr. LaBarbara has trained in a variety of settings including: OCD residential treatment, state forensic psychiatric hospital, substance abuse inpatient hospitalization, neurorehabilitation and community mental health.
He completed a two-year postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical/McLean hospital’s OCDI residential program.
Dr. LaBarbara has extensive knowledge of mindfulness-based approaches incorporating both Eastern and Western concepts.
He integrates a variety of treatment techniques that he has learned from the varied settings he has trained in, with a primary focus on CBT, ERP, ACT and mindfulness-based approaches. He utilizes his intervention techniques from a person-centered stance that focuses on the therapeutic relationship.
