Narrative of Services:

Over half of my weekly clients struggle with anxiety disorders or obsessive compulsive related disorders. I practice Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) within an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy framework. When my clients identify what matters most to them and practice strategies to increase acceptance and step back from intrusive thoughts, they have an easier time participating in exposure exercises. I also value tailoring evidence-based treatments to meet the unique needs of my clients. I frequently use traditional CBT techniques, self-compassion, and mindfulness interventions. In addition to OCD, I treat anxiety disorders (e.g. generalized anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety) and depression.

Training Description:

I hold a PhD in clinical psychology from Brigham Young University (BYU), where I trained in evidence based approaches like CBT, ACT, and Exposure and Response Prevention in a variety of settings. I was heavily involved in research regarding the use of mindfulness to treat anxiety, and I have published several studies in peer reviewed journals. I am certified in ERP through the BTTI training program, and I frequently attend workshops and conferences on the use of ACT, CBT, and ERP. I have been invited to present on OCD treatment for various doctoral programs and professional organizations.

Diversity Statement:

I value multiculturalism and welcome people from all backgrounds and do not discriminate. My pre-doctoral internship was at the APA accredited California State University Northridge. This is a highly diverse campus and a designated an HSI (Hispanic Serving Institution) and AANAPISI (Asian American, Native American, and Pacific Islander Serving Institution). I also have experience working with veterans, people struggling with chronic pain, and people who identify as LGBTQIA+.
