Michelle Ruiz Deal LPC-S

OnHealing Therapy is a clinic that is led by Michelle Ruiz Deal, LPC-S who has seven years of experience providing treatment to individuals with anxiety-based disorders and their co-occurring disorders. Michelle has specialized training in OCD and PTSD and dedicates approximately 90% of her practice to treating OCD, PTSD and co-occurring disorders. She understands that individuals are more than a set of symptoms and that often the disorder is experienced by the members of the support system. Her treatment often includes the support system when appropriate.

I am trained in OCD through the BTTI for foundational knowledge. I have had the privilege of continued training with a staff member of with the UPenn School of Psychiatry. I have attended OCD conferences and workshops since 2020. I have continual supervision from a faculty member at Harvard Medical School with the intent to continually develop my skillset and grow my toolbox OCD treatment.

Michelle Ruiz Deal, LPC-S is a member of the Latine community and uses her knowledge to provide outreach to the Latine community. She currently serves as the president of the Texas Association of Multicultural Counseling and Development, a division of the Texas Counseling Association. She is affiliated with the Association of Multicultural Counseling and Development. Additionally, she has been presenting on the state and local level on examining OCD from a multicultural lens to professional organizations.

Michelle strives to continually be culturally sustaining by continually seeking training at workshops both online and in person that expands her knowledge on culturally sustaining treatment. She has been attending state and local conferences since 2018 where the focus has been on skillset growth and becoming more respectful and aware of the cultural influences that impact treatment.
