Pamela L. Simms PsyD
Dr. Simms has been treating individuals with OCD and TS for over 15 years. She believes that each person and their experience is unique. She is committed to creating a nonjudgmental, empathic and supportive environment in therapy that fosters a collaborative therapeutic relationship built on trust and respect. Furthermore, she has a passion for physical health that she believes is important for a balanced mind-body connection. She presents workshops on the topics of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Tourette Syndrome, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Sports Performance.
Dr. Pam Simms is a licensed psychologist specializing in child, adolescent and adult Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Trichotillomania, Tourette Syndrome (TS), Panic Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Sports Performance. The primary treatment approach to OCD used by Dr. Simms is a combination of Cognitive Behavior Therapy with Exposure Response Prevention, MindfulnessTraining and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. In addition, family sessions are incorporated into therapy, as necessary, to disengage family members from the OCD patterns while also supporting their family member who is struggling with OCD. Dr. Simms also works collaboratively with schools and employers, as needed for advocacy.
