Tamara J. Sussman PhD
Currently, the majority of my practice is focused on treating OCD. I have chosen to focus on treating OCD because I find that evidence-based treatments are very effective, and I can be confident that I can help people get better. I provide free consultations so that you can tell me what’s been going on, and get a sense of how I approach treatment. I think it’s very important for us to agree on goals for therapy and methods for how to achieve them. Please see my website for more information and reach out if you would like to learn more!
I have been treating OCD for over a dozen years, throughout my training, as well as in my private practice. I received my PhD from Stony Brook University, where training is firmly grounded in evidence-based therapies including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I completed my internship at Rutgers University, and I am licensed in New York State. I am an Assistant Professor at Columbia University, and a Research Scientist at the New York State Psychiatric Institute, where I conduct research in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
