Narrative of Services:

I work in private practice with 7 other providers where our main focus is on the treatment of OCD and anxiety disorders, with about 80% of individuals presenting for OCD or anxiety treatment. Other conditions we treat include depression and trauma. My practice offers OCD assessment and gold standard treatment interventions for OCD and anxiety (exposure and response prevention combined with elements of acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and compassion-based approaches). My practice offers weekly therapy, with options for more frequent sessions based on symptoms severity.

Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders:

Social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, major depressive disorder, low self-esteem, perfectionism, and people-pleasing. Treatment begins with an assessment, understanding what maintains your symptoms, and how your anxiety and/or avoidance is playing out in your life. You will learn how to approach feared situations in a systematic way with my help (i.e., exposure); in session and between sessions. Other therapeutic skills you will learn is how to: challenge beliefs that are keeping you stuck, understand your struggle in a deeper way, work with and care for your emotions, be compassionate toward yourself, and strengthen your connections with others.

Training Description:

I am a psychological associate at a private practice centered on helping youth and adults with OCD and anxiety related disorders. I have had four years of experience during my training in working with youth and transitional age youth with OCD and anxiety. My research focuses on adapting a widely used anxiety treatment manual to be effective with Latinx youth.

Diversity Statement:

I am passionate about working with members of underserved populations. I have worked with members who identify as racial, sexual, and gender minorities. I have provided therapy in English, Spanish, and a mix of both for families who have members with differing language needs.

Cultural awareness and humility is a top priority for me during my work with clients. I have received various trainings on the importance of integrating cultural factors in therapy and how to work with clients on identifying areas of cultural values and bringing them to into our work. My research and clinical work has focused on developing and adapting interventions for youth and families from culturally diverse populations to be relevant, relatable, and effective.
